The Mahjong Social Club (TMSC) was founded in 2023 and has quickly grown into a vibrant and welcoming Mahjong community. Co-owners Courtney & Heather are passionate about spreading the love of Mahjong through beginner lessons, competitive leagues, parties, fundraisers, corporate events and curated Mahjong travel experiences like Camp Mahj retreats and Bon Voy Mahj cruises. With the help of our team of incredible teachers, TMSC offers a fun and inclusive place for players of all skill levels. Whether you are Mahj curious or a seasoned player, there's a seat for you at The Club.

Where do you teach? 

We're based in Tulsa, OK but always love a good excuse to take our tiles on the road!

Where, when and how did you learn mahjong? 

Heather was talked into learning Mahjong so she could join a fun girls' trip to Seaside - one lesson and she was hooked! Courtney and her husband were taught by another couple over a long weekend at the lake. What started as casual games with friends quickly turned into a shared passion. Both Heather and Courtney have now been playing for many years and love introducing others to the game!

Tell us why you love Mahjong?

The Mahjong Social Club isn’t just about teaching people how to play- it’s building bridges, sparking friendships, and proving that Mahjong is so much more than a game.

What is your favorite mahjong memory? 

One of our favorite memories was celebrating The Mahjong Social Club’s 2-year anniversary and then The Mahjong Line’s 5-year anniversary soon after. It was so special to celebrate with so many mahj lovers and reflect on how much the game has grown. Seeing both communities continue to expand and connect people through mahjong has been incredibly rewarding.

What is your favorite mahjong tile? 

We're obsessed with the new Americana Line. Especially the Five Crak which features TULSA!

What makes you laugh? 

We love a good Faux-jong! It's important to laugh at ourselves and learn from our mistakes. First and foremost, Mahjong is a game and is meant to be FUN!

One thing you can't live without.

What Mahjong Line set is your favorite to play on?

We can't pick a favorite, but we love... The Americana Line because of its nod to Tulsa! The Mountain Line, the Jokers make us happy! The Lucky Line, one of our first sets and Heather's daughter's birthday is St Patrick's Day.
