What started in 2023 has grown into Tulsa’s friendliest, most inclusive community—where you’ll find lessons, league play, parties, retreats, and more. When, how, where did you learn Mahjong?
Close friends taught my husband and I over a long weekend at the lake.
Why do you love Mahjong?
I love Mahjong because it's a great way to connect with friends and family. I love getting together with girlfriends to unwind and catch up, but I also love playing at home with my teenager. It's one activity he has to put down the phone for!
What is your favorite Mahjong memory?
My favorite memory is probably from The Mahjong Social Club's first lesson. A dear friend booked us to teach a group of beginners. We made many mistakes, but the night was so special and I got a glimpse of what our business could become! That friend also became obsessed with the game and is now a teacher for The Mahjong Social Club!
What is your favorite line on NMJL card or favorite tile?
Favorite line for 2 years running... FF 1111 2222 3333. Favorite tile, Joker, of course!!
What makes you laugh?
So much! My biggest laughs are usually courtesy of my 6 year old daughter.
Motto for life
The KISS method... Keep It Simple, Stupid! Learned back in my Marketing 101 Class at The University of Georgia and applicable to just about everything in my life!
What would you sing on karaoke night?
Anything from Taylor Swift. I have a lot of practice singing along in my car!
What Mahjong Line set is your favorite to play on?
The Lucky Line in Jade Green. It was the first set I really obsessed over but it was out of stock when I was ready to buy my first tiles. I think having to wait for it just made it better! I especially love the vibrant colors and the quirky Jokers. And it looks great on so many mat colors!
Stranded on a desert island and you only have one movie to watch..
Some days I feel like we already only have one movie, and that movie is Frozen!
