Mahjong Rouge
Hello! We are Mauree and Stephanie, the "pair" behind Mahjong Rouge. Emphasizing southern hospitality and community-building, it is our joy to offer beginner, intermediate and more advanced lessons, as well as open-play through our league! Our hope is that our players feel welcome and at home while learning Mahjong and that they come away with a new friend and a new favorite hobby! So whether you are brand new to Mahjong or are looking to host a Mahjong event, we are happy to provide the essentials!
We are two moms on a mission to spread the fun and fellowship of mahjong throughout Louisiana! We teach all levels of lessons and also facilitate fun league events through our league "Club Mahj." We also offer tournaments, parties, corporate events and fundraisers and parties.

Where, when and how did you learn mahjong?
A few years ago we found a teacher who was able to show us the ropes. We learned with friends around Mauree's dining room table. Our love for the game took off from there and practice made perfect. The rest is history!
Tell us why you love Mahjong?
We love that mahjong gives old friends a reason to come together more regularly. We love that around a mahjong table, new friends and those searching for “their people," find connection and community with a side of good-natured competition and fun. We love that Mahjong gives families the opportunity to spend more time together doing something that is genuinely so good for the brain and the heart.
What is your favorite mahjong memory?
Last year we hosted a "Friendsgiving" open play at a fabulous local venue with loads of personality. It was a festive celebration of the mahjong community we had been blessed to create.
What is your favorite mahjong tile?
Bird Bam! (they are always so clever and the "cheers" part is a welcome bonus)
